Breaking fundraising records

With the economic toll of the COVID-19 pandemic only beginning to unfold, it was clear to United Way of King County that supporting marginalized and vulnerable populations, as well as new populations who’d never needed help before, would require unprecedented effort and resources. Success with an annual fundraising campaign became mission critical.

To achieve that success, a high-contrast visual identity was established to grab eyes; succinct and powerful messaging was developed to inspire action. A multi-channel strategy that included email, digital, direct mail, and radio advertising was implemented to engage more people.

In just a month’s time, the campaign doubled both dollars raised and number of donors year-over-year, breaking fundraising records and far exceeding goals. Some elements of the campaign were so successful that, four months after launch, they continued to drive donations to the organization.
