Inspiring holiday Wonder (and gifting)

Microsoft’s e-commerce site is a multi-billion dollar line of business for the tech giant, with holiday shopping playing a critical role in achieving annual goals.

Each year, a holiday gift guide had been created to highlight the season’s most exciting and exclusive gifts available through the site. However, the landing page was indistinguishable from other landing pages and the products received no special call-outs or treatment.

Wanting to better distinguish the guide and create a more engaging user experience, a creative concept was ideated and successfully pitched to key stakeholders. Collaborating with a core team of creatives, an innovative template was established within the confines of site architecture and style, a playful and human voice was established for copy, custom motion graphics were commissioned, studio photography was shot, and ahead of the holiday season all-new gift guide was launched in support of the brand’s “Give Wonder” holiday campaign.

Affirming the success of the creative efforts, the distinctly different guide increased user engagement and time on page, which in turn drove sales.
